Here are technologies I plan on using for this Interim project.
The python programming language: A simple, easy-to-use programming language taught in introductory programming classes at Wofford. I've used this language in programming competitions, so I'm very comfortable with it.
Panda3D: An external 3D game engine designed by Disney. It has been used for several commercial Disney games and since it is getting out of date, has been released to the public for free.
Autodesk Maya: A professional 3D modelling program. I don't have any experience with 3D modelling, so this program will likely have the steepest learning curve for me.
Procedural Generation of Content: This is a buzz word in gaming right now; it's where new content is created algorithmically rather than by hand. So rather than create a dozen levels, you could have each level be created by the game itself based on previous actions of the player.
